Scope and Contents

Collection includes a sheet of paper listing Jeremiah Brown's landholdings in Farmington, Ontario County, New York in 1850. Also includes a map of Farmington from the 1990s with the location of the Joseph Smith, Sr. home marked. The Smith homestead was adjacent to the Brown holdings.

Biographical / Historical

Jeremiah Brown was a land owner in Farmington Township, Ontario County, New York in the early 1800s. He was from Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Brown was one of the original purchasers of land in Farmington from Oliver Phelps and Nathaniel Gorham.
