Scope and Contents note

Includes photocopies and typescripts of several copyrights obtained for various books published by and about members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during its early years. Copyrights include that for the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, several books and pamphlets written by Parley P. Pratt and Orson Pratt, and some anti-Mormon literature including John C. Bennett’s The History of the Saints; or An Expose of Joe Smith and Mormonism. Also in the collection are lists of copyrights issued by various states including Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, etc. These lists include several books connected with Mormonism.
