Scope and Contents

Contains letters, pamphlets, and articles concerning the adoption of an international language called Esperanto. The language is strongly advocated in several documents within the file, and many requests are presented to have the language become the official international language of scouting. The value of the langauge for communicating with brother scouts throughout the world is repeatedly emphasized. Other letters, including those by Lord Baden-Powell express some cautious hesitation about the emphasis of the language within the scouting program. Dated 1917-1937.
