Scope and Contents note

Collection of photographs of every home and building in the town of Lark, Utah before it was razed by Kennecott Utah Copper in the 1970s. The pictures were taken by Kennecott to aid in appraisals and keep track of the properties. Nothing was left standing, although the newer duplexes were moved to Copperton, refurbished into single dwellings and made available to former Lark residents.

Administrative History

Kennecott Copper Corporation was formed in 1915. The company operated the copper mines in Salt Lake County, Utah beginning in 1936. In 1980 it changed its name to the Kennecott Corporation.
