Scope and Contents

This collection consists of two diaries and their photocopies and biographies of 16 Tonks family members. The members of the Tonks family belonged to the Mormon Church and lived in Utah and Idaho. The diary of Warren Tonks covers from 2 Jan. 1921 to 25 Feb. 1923 when the author was a missionary for the Mormon Church in New Zealand. It is in three notebooks written mostly in pencil.

The diary of George Moroni Tonks (1856-1932) covering from 8 March 1887 to 4 June 1887 plus a photocopy of it are also available. At this time George Tonks was serving as a missionary for the Mormon Church in the Southern States Mission primarily working in Virginia and North Carolina.
