The black ribbon / Carrie Coplen

Report by Brigham Young University folklore student Carrie Coplen, who collected information from Jamie Langston. According to the story, a man's wife forbids him to remove the black ribbon around her neck. He becomes obsessed and finally cuts it free as she sleeps, whereupon her head rolls loose.
