3 children die while babysitter watches T.V. / Suzanne Taylor

3 children die while babysitter watches T.V. / Suzanne Taylor

Dates: 1975 June 28

Report by Brigham Young University folklore student Suzanne Taylor, who collected information from Karen. According to the story, a babysitter watching TV twice ignores a mother's telephoned requests to check on the children. The third time, she finds the children dead: Crib death had struck one child at the time of each call, and "probably [...] could have been prevented" if she had checked the first time (though manuscript also notes that "no one knows just what causes crib death").
