Edgar A. Wedgewood letters
Scope and Contents
Handwritten and signed letters addressed to Wedgewood's wife, Annie. The materials relate to Wedgewood's traveling to the Philippines with the troops of the United States Army to occupy those islands at the beginning of the insurrection. He was wounded and also writes about his return home.

Biographical History
Edgar Wedgewood was born on May 2, 1856 in Lowell, Massachusetts. During the Spanish-American War he served as an officer in the U.S. Volunteers, advancing to the rank of captain in the artillery. After the war he continued to serve in the reserves, reaching the rank of brigadier general at the time of his death on January 31, 1920. As a civilian, he worked as an attorney in Salt Lake City, Utah.
