Scope and Contents

Typescripts of the Kirtland Council Minute Book (1832-1837), photocopy of handwritten Nauvoo Library and Literary Institute records, and typescripts of the minute books of the High Council of the Mormon Church in Nauvoo, Illinois. The meeting minutes are in five books from 1840 to 1845 and document the function and activities of the leadership of the Mormon Church in Nauvoo.

Separated Materials

The Kirtland Council Minute Book, 1832-1837, was separated and cataloged as MSS SC 2920. The Nauvoo Library and Literary Society Records were separated as cataloged as MSS SC 1945.
