Teabo manuscript, approximately 1750 - 1850
Scope and Contents
The Teabo Manuscript is a collection of Christian-Maya texts composed by trained Maya in the town of Teabo throughout the colonial period. The manuscript also contains a few medicinal remedies and a death record. Although exhibiting some texts originally composed in the sixteenth century, the manuscript itself dates from the late eighteenth to the early nineteenth centuries.
