Ben Bahlmann interview with Johnny Y. Wakamatsu

Typescript of an interview conducted by Ben Bahlmann on 31 August 1999. The audiocassettes, from which the interview was transcribed, were retained by Bahlmann. Wakamatsu's parents were from Japan, and he was raised in the state of Washington. He joined the United States Army in 1941 and served with the 442nd regiment in Europe starting in 1944. He talks mainly about his combat experience.
