Ellen Elvira Nash Parkinson papers
Scope and Contents
Photocopies of a typewritten autobiography, two typewritten letters, and two biographies. In her autobiography, Parkinson writes about her life in Utah and Idaho, the polygamous marriage of her husband, and her attitude towards the Mormon Church. Also included is a brief biographical statement of Parkinson's daughter telling of Ellen's last years. The two letters are from Isaac B. Nash to "Vie" stating that he was given a three-month sentence for polygamy. The biography is of Mary Cramer Poole (1790-1881) and tells about her conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her sailing on the ship Brooklyn to San Francisco, California, and how she made "much money" after gold was found nearby.
