Biographical / Historical

Merian C. Cooper (b. Oct 24, 1893) was an American film director and producer. He was also a prisoner of war while serving as a volunteer in the American Kosciuszko Squadron. He died April 21, 1973.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 24, 1893, Merian Coldwell Cooper was an American film director and producer, most iconic of which is King Kong. In 1920 Cooper joined the American Kosciuszko Squadron fighting with the Polish Army against Soviet Russia. July 26, 1973 his plane was shot down and he was taken as a prisoner-of-war for almost nine months. He escaped shortly before the end of the war and recieve high military decorations from the Polish government. He married Dorothy Jordan on May 27, 1933 and they had three children. He died April 21, 1973 of cancer.

Biographical / Historical

Jack Polito is one of the East Coast's foremost character animators, with over 40 years experience in the industry. A childhood protégé of the late great Merian C. Cooper (creator of the original King Kong), and a special effects technician under L.B. Abbot at 20th Century Fox, Jack went on to serve as head of the art and animation departments for DeFrenes Studios and Animation Arts Associates, overseeing all phases of production. For the past two decades, Jack has headed Cinemotion in Philadelphia, PA, providing quality 2D and 3D character animation for a myriad of clients, ranging from large corporations to prominent advertising agencies, TV networks, and entertainment production companies. Jack and Cinemotion have been the recipients of numerous industry awards, including an Oscar nomination.
