Horace Fish records his family data; his conversion to Mormonism, 1836; his exodus west; the temporary settlement near the Des Moines River in Iowa; mob activities against the Mormons in that area; a settlement near Council Point, Iowa, 1847; his journey across the plains in 1850 in the Milo Andrus Company; his settlement in Centerville, Utah; the settlement in Parowan, Utah, 1853; a fight with the Indians; notes on John Calvin Lazell Smith, first president of the Parowan Stake; the reformation of 1856; the Johnston's Army episode; and pioneer life and activities.

Biographical history

Horace fish was born on January 6, 1799 in Hatley, Stansteed Co., Quebec to Joseph Fish and Sarah (Sally) Spear. He married Hannah Leavitt in Hatley on March 18, 1824. He died in Beaver, Utah, July 6, 1870.
