Scope and Contents

The Mary Ann Linton Morgan family papers contain original geneaological research and pedigree charts, including old family trees of the Sutton family, compiled by Mary Ann Linton Morgan. Also contains a diary from 1924, the patriarchal blessing of Mary Ann Linton Morgan, two letters to the family of John Hamilton Morgan (Mary Ann's husband) from Heber J. Grant, 1930s missionary photographs of an Elder Vincent in Tonga, and various books pertaining to the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The overall collection contains documents from 1848-1991, but primarily consists of materials from approximately 1930 to 1950.

Biographical History

Mary Ann Linton Morgan (1865-1951) was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who compiled extensive genealogical records.

Mary Ann Linton Morgan was born February 11, 1865, in Nephi, Utah. She married John Hamilton Morgan on June 7, 1888. Mary found and compiled extensive records on her family history. She died March 19, 1951.
