Biographical History

Michael Bloom (1926-2010) was a violist who performed with orchestras and in concerts throughout the world, especially in the United States and Europe.

Michael Bloom was an active musician, performing with groups such as the Stadt Orchestra of Lucerne, Switzerland, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Washington, DC Symphony, and the New York City Opera, among others. He and his wife, Barbara Long, performed duo concerts in major halls of Amsterdam and Berlin. A U.S. State Department sponsored tour took them both to nine countries of the far east with Lyrica Quartet.

Bloom was a certified Suzuki teacher, and taught in several schools. He died on April 9, 2010, in New Jersey.

Barbara Long Bloom (born 1936) is a professional musician who has performed in Europe and the far east.

Barbara Long Bloom performed duo concerts in major halls of Amsterdam and Berlin with her husband, Michael Bloom. A U.S. State Department sponsored tour took them both to nine countries of the far east with Lyrica Quartet.
