Biographical History
J. Sterling Merrell (1919-2006) was a soldier and businessman in Utah.
J. Sterling Merrell was born January 20, 1919 in Bluebell, Utah. He graduated from the MBA program at Brigham Young University, and later went on to marry Eunice Laurel Hutchings in the Salt Lake Temple on November 25, 1942. He served in the military for 30 years, including during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He later went on to work in various other fields such as sales and real estate. He was also on the board of directions for the Intermountain Power Association as well as various other corporations. J. Sterling Merrell died September 14, 2006.
Administrative History
The Intermountain Power Agency is a governmental entity of the state of Utah organized to finance and manage a central electricity generation facility. The agency was established in 1977, and its members include twenty-three Utah municipalities that own electric utilities.
