Bob D. Litterell collection of music for the Orpheus Harp Quintet

Bob D. Litterell collection of music for the Orpheus Harp Quintet

Dates: approximately 1900-2013

Materials contain music associated with Bob D. Litterell's quintet Orpheus Harp Quintet which included harp, violin, flute, cello and viola. Some of the works are numbered indicating that they were part of a set list for performance. The series contains photocopied parts of classical and popular works composed or arranged for ensemble groups. Many of the scores are originally written for varying ensembles and would have been adapted by Litterell for the quintet. Often Litterell wrote a flute part for a pre-existing work for string quartet, or adapted a violin part for the flute. Some of the works are arranged entirely by Litterell. Among these are Litterell's transciptions for excerpts from Shostakovich's The Gadfly and Michurin, Prokofiev's War and Peace and Holst's Hymn from Rig Veda. Materials dated approximately 1900-2013.
