Biographical History

William Thomas Box (1840-1910) was a Baptist minister in Morrilton, Arkansas.

William Thomas Box was born on April 5, 1840 to Thomas and Margaret Choan Box in Dade County, Missouri. His family moved to Arkansas in 1857, first to Scott County and later to Conway County. He was a soldier in the Indian War. He married Sarah Eveline Perkins on November 17, 1861 in Conway County. They eventually had fourteen children: Jennie, Myrtle, Mettie, Jake, Mary, G.R., Bertha, Martha, James, Willie, E.J., Thomas, William, and another Mettie.

Box and his family were members of the Baptist church, and Box began preparing to join the Baptist ministry in 1867. He became the third pastor of the Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton, Arkansas, also serving in Hope and Prescott before returning to Morrilton in 1890. He also owned farm property in Morrilton.

Box passed away on April 26, 1910.
