Administrative History

The Literary League of Provo (1930-) is a women's society in Utah.

The Literary League of Provo was organized on January 31, 1930 by four women who wanted to "continue to sharpen their minds" by reading literature. The first League included 20 women and the first president was Eva K. Thomas. The group later expanded to about 40 members. The group continues to meet monthly between September and May, reading and discussing various types of literature. Meetings are held in each member's home in turn. Each year, new leadership is elected by the members and reading content is based on a year-long theme, some of which have been "Walking among Architectural Masterpieces" and "Words from the West."
