Administrative History

The BYU Police Department had its origins in the 1950s under President Ernest L. Wilkinson. The small police force has since grown into a large organization with 33 State certified officers and a civilian staff of 153 personnel, serve and protect a campus community of some 35,000 students, University employees, and countless visitors.
