Biographical History

Leland H. Campbell (1928- ) was the director of the Institutional Research and Planning department at Brigham Young University.

Leland H. Campbell was born in 1928. He directed the Brigham Young University's Institutional Research and Planning department from 1978 to 1981, when he was replaced by H. Bruce Higley.

Administrative History

Institutional Research (approximately 1962-1978) was responsible for audits and reviews.

Institutional Research at Brigham Young University was established around 1962, and was responsible for internal audits and reviews. It was directed by Leland H. Campbell, and was renamed Institutional Research and Planning around 1978.

The Office of Institutional Analysis and Data Administration (1998- ) assesses university programs.

The Office of Institutional Analysis and Data Administration was previously divided between the Office of Assessment and the Office of Institutional Analysis and Data Administration. It is directed by Danny R. Olsen, and is primarily responsible for assessing university programs.

The Office of Institutional Analysis at Brigham Young University was formed in 1996, and was previously part of Institutional Studies. It was directed by H. Bruce Higley, and was primarily responsible for managing institutional data and data processing. In 1998 it was renamed the Office of Institutional Analysis and Data Administration.
