- The collection has been arranged into two series. I. Compensation Reports, 1967-2003. II. Compensation Surveys and Minutes, 1957-1992. The materials have been grouped into similar subjects, which is the original order in which they were found.

Administrative History
The Compensation Department is a branch of the Human Resource Services Department. The department develops and maintains the salary system, approves administrative and staff salaries, and provides assistance to those who are accountable for administering salaries. Other responsibilities include conducting surveys, maintaining salary schedules and grading systems, provide guidelines for annual Salary Reviews, ensure internal equity and external competitiveness, and assist with department restructures.
