The collection consists of five series: 1. College of Fine Arts and Communications: office files of Dean Gerrit DeJong, 1952-1958; 2. College of Fine Arts and Communications: Dean's office files, 1925-1970; 3. College of Fine Arts and Communications: joint office files of Dean Lorin F. Wheelwright and Assistant Dean Lael J. Woodbury, 1960-1973; 4. College of Fine Arts and Communications: budgetary files of Dean Lorin F. Wheelwright, 1959-1974; and 5. College of Fine Arts and Communications: office files of Assistant Dean Lael J. Woodbury, 1956-1975.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from the College of Fine Arts & Communications Dean's office files must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the Special Collections Board of Curators.

Separated Material
Confidential memorandums between Conan E. Matthews and President Ernest L. Wilkinson relative to interviews with and report of faculty members in the College of Fine Arts on the payment of tithing and their attitudes toward tithing, 44 sheets, 1959. This material has been transferred to the archivist's office file and is filed under Fine Arts College - Restricted Material. This material can only be used upon the joint approval of the University Archivist and the President of Brigham Young University. Two tapes from Mormon Festival of Arts in 1970 were transferred to Sound Services tape collection in Archives
