Administrative History

The BYU Center for Business and Economic Research was formed on September 1, 1969. Its purpose was to give students real world business research experience by working with actual businesses, instead of solving hypothetical text book problems. By the early 1980s the Center ceased to exist separately; its duties were assumed by the Marriott School of Management. Directors of the center include Merrill J. Bateman, Martin J. Wistisen, Gene Dalton, and Richard Oveson.
